The same panel reduced so that it is 4 inches high in my browser.

This is 12 point type, bold.

This is 10 point bold  The side panels
could have approximately this size type
 and be legible

This is 8 point type -- probably a common type
size for a label.  Supportt -- Arthritis should be
taken from one to three times per day, about one
heaping teaspoon per dose -- or more, as needed.

Four possible font types, currently used by Ayurvedic web sites.  The font type can be used for the phrase:

Supportt -- Arthritis

or

Supportt

Arthritis

or

Supportt™

Arthritis

Of the four I most like:

I have changed the names of the images on the published page so that all started with "ayur" so I can find them easily in my folder.

Ayurveda.gif

It is clean and readable.  It has somehow an Oriental look.
The next best looking, to me is:

ayurmapi-logo-gold.jpg

These are very close.  If this second one were in a darker color I would like it better.

Just too fancy

The fourth lacks distinction.

LIDs and Bottles/Jars

Product Picture

I have in my hand one of our one-pound jars for MSM powder.  This is a jar we have filled at NorthWest Marketing, and I print a label here, one at a time, to manually apply.  We got these bottles packed in case we could develop a market of selling this jar to stores -- the label has "fields" where the store's name and address can be merged in.
We have not sold any or much of this package, but we have a small stock of these jars in our inventory.

The flat space, vertiaclly, where a label could go is over 4 inches.  Probably 4 1/4 inches.  The overall height of the jar, from bottom to top of cap, is 6 inches.
There is the usual curved shoulder on the base and the top.
The diameter is about 3 1/2 inches, making the circumfrenc available by formula, about 9 inches.
Therefore, I think this jar will do for a label of 9" by 4 1/4".
This jar has a fairly wide-mouth appearance -- the mouth of the jar is about the full diameter -- the curved shoulder is modest.
This jar was picked to hold 16 ounces of plain MSM.
I would be satisfied with this jar, and with the label that would fit.
I am guessing and hoping that we can find more of this jar, or that our packager can find it.
With this jar, only one pound, we can sell this package for $100 making it an easier sale than the larger (2 pound) jar at $200.
This jar will easily allow a teaspoon to be inserted.
The jar we have is clear plastic -- if the label is mostly dark (gradient blue, silver foil border, the clear plastic should be a good contrast -- the contents will the tan-color herbal MSM.
If future products in the Supportt series have slightly different colors, even if basically tan, this jar size can be OK for them too.
The cap is flat, white, smooth edge.
I have not opened the jar in my hand. There is some sort of usual outer seal, and some sort of inner seal.
I would use the word "small and cute" to describe this jar.  It is not a normal size you would find in stores.
On the web I found this:

Another source of jar/bottle

The bottle would be appropriate for capsules while the jar would be appropriate for loose powder.

The lid with "curved shoulders" is the same type we use for Calm Cream, and is the lid, tentatively, which I prefer for either a bottle or a jar.

As of April 11, 2003, we are moving tentatively toward having at least one bottle of herbal MSM in capsules -- for people to start with this product in capsules.  Even though we firmly instruct that they must open the capsule and taste the contents, we can expect that some number will try this new product, in capsules, and swallow the capsules whole, without tasting the contents.  If this works for them, then the capsules will become a large seller, despite the higher cost.  If it does not work, as capsules swallowed, then we will revert to the loose powder form as the primary form to sell, presumably at lower volumes.

HERE are the dimensions of the two pound jar for the loose powder..

If people find that they can tolerate the taste, and/or are willing to use the powder in any event because it is less expensive, then we should have a large container, probably 32 ounces, approximately, of powder, so that people can take this product in the loose powder form.  The size of this container will be dependent on the advice we receive from Dr. Ayyangar on whether the 2 pound jar can be stored, after opening, in normal room temperature.  Apparently it can, for six months.

I need to find out, also, whether the jar can have an inner "lid" or "sealing lid" and whether such an inner sealing lid would add any storage value for the loose powder.

I now propose that we have ONLY TWO packages for the herbal MSM to start.  We start with a small bottle (but allowing a label height of at least 4 inches) of capsules, and a large jar for powder.

The bottle with capsules can be planned only after we find out if excepients are needed, or not, to allow the powder to flow through a capsule filling machine.  I would select the bottle on the basis of it being a size that will allow a high quality, large, label.

If the 500 cc bottle will be OK, the dimensions of that are:

The Overall Height is 5.687"
The Diameter is 3.03"
The Circumference is 9.519"

Thus, the 500 cc bottle will probably hold a good number of capsules AND be large enough to have a good label. The "height" above is NOT the height of a label, but of the jar from the curved base through to the top of the cap.

I note that the label area is shown for jars, but not for bottles.  On the jar about 1 1/2 inches of height is lost because of the curved areas -- if the same holds true for the bottle, then the label height for the bottle would be about 4 inches -- that is adequate, I think.

If the powder does not sell, and if people get good results when swallowing capsules, we could add a larger bottle of capsules and either discontinue the large jar of powder, or simply accept low sales on that form.

This is a wide - mouthed jar that holds 16 ounces, the height for a label is 2.018 inches.  Cost $100.80 for a case of 144 jars.  I consider this label height too small.
