Some
years ago Dr. Ayyangar designed a special herbal MSM blend to treat spider
bites, particularly those found in Australia. There is an extensive
coverage of this subject on this web site. A good starting page is

Unfortunately a drug company in Australia did NOT want to see this natural remedy be tested -- since they sell drugs for spider bites. Thus, the Herbal MSM -- Spider Bite -- was never even used. The full supply was stopped in Australian customs on the efforts of that drug company.
We do not currently have a special blend of Herbal MSM designed for treating spider bites.
However, after some thought on this, we have concluded that ANY of the Herbal MSM formulas would be MORE effective in treating spider bites than plain MSM. Even plain MSM could be all the treatment that is needed -- applying the MSM externally, as a "poultice" and also taking it internally.
The currently available Herbal MSM was designed for handling the relief of pain of arthritis -- this also includes handling the inflammation that occurs with arthritis. That inflammation has some similarities to the inflammation of a spider bite -- there would be, of course, also many differences.
Thus, the thought here is that without the current availability of the special Herbal MSM -- Spider Bite --- that the Arthritis formulation is very likely to be effective.
The sooner is it used, after a spider bite, the more effective and the faster it will be effective.
Anti-biotics are often prescribed by Western doctors who have very little knowledge of spider bites and antibiotics are generally NOT helpful. They may not harm, but they do not help. The danger of the spider bite is NOT caused by germs. It is "necrotic" tissue -- tissue that is dieing and which causes the adjacent tissue to become necrotic also. At the very early beginning, surgery will be effective if ALL the necrotic tissue is removed. Later, it becomes harder to remove it all, and it continues to spread.
This "spreading" is NOT like cancer, the necrotic tissue spreads only to the adjacent tissues with which it is in contact. Herbal MSM can stop the spread and start the healing process.

Dear Karl,
Could you please email me with some details to ease my mind. Last week I was hosing down the front door when I noticed a spider and hosed it down. the next day I felt an itch on the back of my leg. Over the course of a few hours the site became red and a lump appeared. I went to the hospital where they treated me for a native bee sting. They gave me some fernergon and applied stingoes to the site.
