MSM Cream Packaging Concepts
The first task is to decide how many different products we are going to plan. We have started with two new products -- both sold now in India. The names for a start relate to the names used in India.
"Calm Cream" in India is called "Calm Cream" but is quite different from the "Calm Cream" sold in the US. The version sold in India takes into account that the Indian public does not much like a white colored cream -- this Indian cream is more natural in color. This cream also has a different set of Ayurvedic herbal components. We can call it the "Indian Ayurvedic Calm Cream" or the "Calm Cream Ayurvedic" for simplicity. This is one of the two creams for which we need a new name for sales in the US.
"MagiCream" is not sold yet in the US. It is sold in India under this name.
We know that we must get new label designs because the FDA label regulations do not allow this "MSM Cream" to include reference to "MSM" when packaged or sold in India. These creams do contain MSM. But, the Indian FDA allows health claims that are not allowed in the US -- and generally acknowledges the validity of using the Indian names for herbs, whether considered "Ayurvedic herbs" or not.
The labels in the US cannot make "health claims" as boldly as made in India, and certainly can and will make reference to the MSM content. The individual Indian names for the herbs are not known in the US and even some English equivalent will not communicate usefully to all but a tiny few of US prospects.
So we need new names and new lists of contents, and new general data to go on the label.
There then need to be made decisions on prices in the US market and this will greatly influence the types of packaging and selling prices.
As a starting hypothesis:
1. We will have two new products, initially named "MSM Cream #2" and "MSM Cream #3." (Calm Cream will be considered to have taken "MSM Cream #1."
