Psychobabble is "the deliberate use of a word or phrase that has no useful definition in the context where used."

An example of psycobabble is:

"Coral Calcium will 'harmonize' your blood!"

There is no scientific definition or even any reasonably logical definition for "harmonize" when used in this context. (This is an actual claim that has been made for "Coral Calcium." Coral Calcium came onto the market with high-hype and false claims -- it was very successful for a few years and has mostly crumbled away.

Words like these are used with the knowledge, either full and knowing, or pretended to be ignorantly used, by those who market on the basis of creating deception not value in the hands of the consumer.

The more drugged is our society the more effective psychobabble becomes -- creating irrational emotional reactions for purchases rather than logic and analytical thought.
