Eucanol International Pty. Ltd.

Eucanol International Pty Ltd

The drug company, Eucanol, uses blackmail and extortion to prevent spider bite victims in Australia from even testing a superior remedy -- a non-drug alternative to the Eucanol.  Eucanol arranges for the Australian Government to prevent trials of natural remedy for spider bite!

The Eucanol International Pty., Ltd., is apparently using extortion and blackmail to prevent the people of Australia from having access to treatment for one of the most severe "bite problems" on the planet.

The full story is here.

Some people in Australia who had each been bitten by one of the venomous spiders there formed a group for mutual support and to find remedies for their continuing condition -- usually of unhealing lesions.  One of them learned that MSM might be helpful for such bites and wrote to me.

That led to my enthusiastic support of a trial of my MSM for their situation.  I sent a large quantity, free of charge, of our regular MSM powder, and had a highly trained doctor of homeopathy in India formula a special blend of MSM powder with Ayurvedic herbal ingredients that have been well proved as effective against spider bites in India.

The group was, at that time, already being used by an Australian drug company as test subjects for one of their drugs, Eucanol, apparently in the form of free drugs, and a promise to support the presentation by the group at a big meeting which would greatly enhance the sales and reputation of the Eucanol people.

When Eucanol saw the hundreds of web pages I had written about my own help to this group, and about the protocol which my Indian doctor had formulated, they apparently decided that they did NOT want to have a non-drug alternative to their monopoly position in Australia.

My own mention of their name was the single word, Eucanol, on two pages, in a very simple and neutral description of the type of treatment which members of the group were currently receiving.

The Eucanol people threatened to withdraw all support from the spider bite victims group if they didn't disconnect from me.  They eventually also threatened me (below) if I didn't remove their name from my web site (see at here).

The Eucanol people also asked the Australian government to be on the look-out for the 10 pound of free materials I had sent to the group for testing -- the person in the group who started the communications with me managed to get the material through customs, but by that time the President of the group had caved in to the threats from Eucanol, and it was never used.

So, Eucanol not only used extortion against the group itself, but also used its drug-oriented connections inside the Government, and threats against the group, to stop the special MSM from even being tested.

That not being enough, Mr. Goodwin from that company proceeded to send me a threatening message, demanding that I remove the word "Eucanol" from my web site.  His legal claim is, of course, completely without merit within the laws of the US.

I've reproduced some of Mr. Goodwin's text here:

Dear Karl,

We are formally requesting that you remove from your Website the Eucanol name and any reference to our company as this is an infringement of our Trademark and is a breach of the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Laws in Australia. These laws are also part of the FDA regulations.

Please notify ASAP with your intentions ASAP as I am on a set timeframe and failure to remove the name within the month will force our Company to take Court action in Australia for infringement of trademark and publishing unapproved advertisements of a registered drug in order to protect ourselves from liability.

Unfortunately this is not a joke and there is no evil intent involved.

Helen Midgley is the president of the Spiderbite Recovery Group Inc. who are a non-profit organisation providing medical information and support to people who are bitten by spiders in Australia. The main basis of the organisation is to help promote the problems that have arisen from the poor treatment of necrotising arachnadism.

Unfortunatley, while your offer to send MSM to Australia was indeed a nice gesture, our laws prevent unregistered drugs entering the country, it is also an offence in this country to receive these drugs.

Our company produces a range of therapeutic products, one of which has had numerous successes in the treatment of necrotising arachnadism, and this in turn has attracted the interest of many experts within the medical industry including Governemnt health bodies.

We were contacted by our regulatory authorities some three months ago in relation to the product being used in Australia by the Spiderbite Support Group, as they assumed that we were part of the supply chain, a fact which has since been cleared up.

On legal advice we had to stop our support for the Spiderbite Support Group.  We have now resumed -- with your material no longer in use here.

While this letter may appear to be a joke I can assure you Mr Loren that this is indeed a very serious matter. As the sponsor of 11 registered drugs in this country, we must obide by the laws regardless of our opinion of them.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and I hope that we can come to a satisfactiry conclusion to this matter

Dear Karl Loren,

If you do not remove our name from your web site, this would automatically result in notification being sent to the FDA by the TGA, and possible Court action by the FDA under the reciprocal agreement.

Thank you
Darryn Goodwin

Dear Karl,

For your own interest Karl, I suggest that you look at the content of your site and have your legal representatives look at the site.

The promotion of drugs in other countries around the world does not afford you protection of free speech when you are using it to promote a good or a service.

Unfortunately this matter must now be placed in the hands of our lawyers as attempts to resolve the matter outside of court have failed.

Thank you,

Darryn Goodwin

The spider bite group has, by now, fallen into disarray. The one person there who wouldn't put up with the Eucanol threats resigned while the others caved in, changed their name and will not respond to any message from me.   So much for offering to help them!

The Eucanol company may have once had a web presence, but certainly has none now, suggesting that it may be out of business, or struggling.  Click here to see search results for this company.  Darryn, the guy with the threats, doesn't use his own company's web address for himself, but uses the anonymity of a free web address.  When I wrote to the webmaster, I got this reply:

G'day Karl,

Sorry for the inconvenience, you are just 24 hours too late to view the Eucanol Site we listed as an Interlink Technology Solutions Client site.

Due to reasons beyond our control the site no longer exists. Thanks for the email and sorry for the oversight in the Client listings, it will be removed as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,
